Join us at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8 in the Alfred J. and Dorothy N. McAllister Meeting Room B at the Downtown Library. Hear Purdue English Professor Charles Ross discuss the life and work of Hoosier humorist and writer Jean Shepherd (1921-1999). Listen to excerpts from his short story/personal anecdote, “A Christmas Story.” Enjoy vintage holiday images.

The film version of A Christmas Story (1983) is a classic, but Shepherd’s career includes success as a storyteller, radio/TV personality, writer, actor, and more.
